My token of devotion for Joni Mitchell on her 83rd birthday.
Saturday, November 7th 2026.
I have ranked every song and album in Joni’s classifiable discography.
I’ve excluded Travelogue, Live at Newport & Joni’s Jazz. I’ve also excluded the Shadows and Light introductions, instrumental solos and all of the 5 second songs on Mingus.
I’m not claiming this to be any sort of ‘correct ranking,’ this is purely a reflection of my October 2026 listening experience.
I already have regrets since printing. Namely “Answer Me, My Love” was robbed.
My Joni experience is ever evolving as I gather more life data. Maybe Mingus will click for me next year.
I’ve printed and mailed 40 copies to primarily the women of the world. A few dignified men who are in touch with their feminine have also made the cut. Good on them.
The tape scans are real from my time at the archives. Do not tell my old boss I did that.
I’ve also published this on JM Reddit so the Joniheads could rip me to shreds.

I want to call attention to two (2) mistakes I did not catch before print.
“I Think I Understand” and “God Must Be A Boogie Man” are reflected twice on the song ranking. Both tracks rank as they stand in their album tables. Forgive the oversight.
